DANS IN ONTWIKKELING 21
21.1 Daar waar ik besta
When the love for simply being becomes the force to exist, to share, and to see. Where being one with yourself in the here and now is all you need. Where we embrace, celebrate and find relationships. There, that one place, where I feel and know: I exist.
Four dancers take you on a journey towards trust, along an uncertain and confronting path. A path where their movements lead to the discovery of a way that first confronts and then softens — where music and dance surpass one another. Choreographer Marlie Salomé explores self-confidence on a soul level — its discomfort, the feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. When you find yourself floating in emptiness. The stage design symbolizes all the steps we take and it reveals all the layers within us, each deserving to be seen. The only home you’ll ever need: the engine to exist: your own body.

21.2 Brothers
The name says it all… Brothers focuses on the theme of ‘brotherhood’. A journey through entanglement, competition and struggle, but also intimacy, connection and collaboration.
The piece is embodied by the movement concept of threading, which originates from breakdance. With a thread, you create a physical opening by connecting multiple body parts together and pass through it with another body part. In Brothers, brothers Justin and Sem string limbs together in all sorts of different ways, creating flowy but sometimes also struggling, movement sequences that take you into a hypnotic trance.
